my mom passed this morning...

I am very, very sad. She was beautiful and I loved her very much. She was not quite 80. It was a very sudden, aggressive small cell cancer, it basically was diagnosed and then overtook her within a week. I am so happy I was able to be with her when she passed, to hold her hand through that whole night.

I know she is best off, it's now a matter of just not missing her so much and the situation of my father, who remains.

Things I did not know

Did not know that Amazon.com had both albums available as MP3s. That's cool.

Recently found out about a site called UStream that allows you to stream audio and video. It works, but seems like you have to go thru some machinations to get video to come from anything other than an input, that is, it is difficult to route output from an application other than routing it into an input using hardware.

Saw that Utenzil is mentioned as a "P5 glove musician" in this wiki. I will do a Ustream show using the P5 glove, mayhaps.

There are a lot of very clever people doing computer music...

I downloaded Google's Chrome browser today. I have been using browsers since Mosaic, and ever since the introduction of the concept of plugins, the various variants have had trouble with them: how to automatically figure out which plugin to use for what is a relatively new thing.

Chrome not only isn't able to do that reliably, but it has no apparent way to have you tell it how to do that.

When using message board software, it cannot render the input into the text box reliably.

So, if it was somebody's graduate project, you'd say nice try. But, because it is the project of a multibillion dollar company, you have to say

CHROME SUX!!!
